PuzzleNook is operated by 1607948 B.C. LTD. (“PuzzleNook,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada.
We designed PuzzleNook so that you can play without creating an account and without providing your name or email address. We collect a limited amount of information needed to operate the site, save game progress, understand how our puzzles are being used, maintain security, and improve PuzzleNook.

1. Information We Collect
Information collected when you play
You can use the ordinary PuzzleNook game experience without creating an account.
When you use PuzzleNook, we may automatically generate and store a random player identifier and session identifiers. These identifiers help distinguish one browser or player from another without requiring us to know your name.
We may collect information about how PuzzleNook is used, including puzzle opens, starts and completions, gameplay results and statistics, completion times, use of hints or other game features, sharing or copying actions, the game or page being used, the date of a puzzle, whether a visit came from a shared puzzle result, referring website information when available, device category such as mobile, tablet or desktop, and application version.
This information is generally associated with a pseudonymous player identifier rather than your name or email address.
Optional accounts
PuzzleNook may offer optional accounts so that players can save and synchronize PuzzleNook progress, statistics, preferences, achievements, puzzle history or other game information across devices.
You do not need an account to access the ordinary PuzzleNook game experience.
If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and associate synced PuzzleNook gameplay data with your account. We use your email address to authenticate you, provide account recovery, maintain account security, respond to account-related requests, and provide cross-device synchronization. If you choose Google sign-in, we also receive a stable Google account identifier and authentication information needed to verify the sign-in. We do not need your Google password.
Creating an account does not automatically subscribe you to marketing communications.
Feedback, bug reports and word requests
If you submit feedback through PuzzleNook, we collect the information you choose to provide. Depending on the form, this may include a bug report, general feedback, a requested word, an accompanying message, and an optional email address.
To help us understand and respond to submissions, we may also automatically attach relevant technical or game context, such as the game being played, puzzle identifier or date, page, application version, device category and pseudonymous player identifier.
Providing an email address with feedback is optional unless we specifically tell you otherwise.
2. Browser Storage
PuzzleNook uses browser technologies such as local storage to make the games work and remember information on your device.
For example, local storage may be used to remember game progress, completed puzzles, settings, preferences, onboarding status, play history, pseudonymous player and session identifiers, and other information needed to provide the game experience.
Local storage is stored in your browser. You can remove it through your browser settings, although doing so may erase locally stored PuzzleNook progress and preferences.
If you create an optional PuzzleNook account, selected progress and preference information stored on your device may be associated with your account so it can be synchronized across devices.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
3. How We Use Information
We use information collected through PuzzleNook for purposes reasonably connected with operating and improving the service, including providing and maintaining the games, saving progress and preferences, synchronizing information for optional accounts, measuring game usage and difficulty, understanding player behaviour in aggregate, improving puzzle design and site usability, investigating bugs and technical problems, responding to feedback and requests, preventing abuse or interference with the service, maintaining security, and complying with legal obligations.
We do not use PuzzleNook gameplay information to build advertising profiles.
4. Analytics
PuzzleNook analytics
PuzzleNook uses its own first-party analytics system to help us understand how the games are used.
Our analytics may record pseudonymous player and session identifiers together with gameplay and technical information such as device category, game activity, results, completion statistics and other events described in this Policy.
Our application analytics are not designed to collect your name or directly identify you.
Cloudflare
PuzzleNook uses Cloudflare for services including website delivery, hosting infrastructure, databases, DNS, performance, reliability and security.
Because Cloudflare helps deliver PuzzleNook over the Internet, Cloudflare may process ordinary Internet connection and request information, which can include information such as IP addresses, browser or device information, requested URLs, timestamps and security-related information.
Cloudflare may also provide us with aggregated traffic, performance and security analytics.
Authentication email delivery
If you choose to create an account, we use Resend to deliver transactional authentication emails such as sign-in links. Resend receives the email address needed to deliver the message and may process ordinary delivery and technical information associated with sending the email. We do not use account sign-in emails for advertising.
5. Third-Party Services
We do not currently use advertising networks, behavioural advertising trackers, Meta/Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics or payment processors on PuzzleNook.
If you open the optional sign-in interface and choose or are offered Sign in with Google, Google may process ordinary connection and browser information and will provide PuzzleNook with authentication information, including a Google account identifier and verified email address, so we can sign you in. Google sign-in is optional; you may instead use email sign-in when available.
Third-party providers that help us operate PuzzleNook, including Cloudflare, Google for optional Google authentication, and Resend for optional account authentication email, may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
6. We Do Not Sell Personal Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We do not currently operate advertising on PuzzleNook, and we do not provide player information to advertisers for targeted advertising.
7. Email and Marketing
PuzzleNook does not currently send newsletters or marketing emails.
If you create an account, we may send transactional messages necessary to operate the account, such as sign-in, verification, recovery or security messages.
If we introduce newsletters or promotional email in the future, we will treat marketing consent separately from account creation and provide an appropriate way to unsubscribe.
8. Children and Young People
PuzzleNook is a general-audience puzzle service. It is designed to be appropriate for a broad range of players but is not specifically directed at children.
Players under 13 should use PuzzleNook with the involvement of a parent or guardian and should not create an account or provide an email address without their parent or guardian’s involvement or consent.
We try to minimize the personal information we collect from all players, including younger players. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, contact admin@puzzlenook.games.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing PuzzleNook, maintaining player progress and accounts, analyzing and improving the games, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations.
Locally stored information remains in your browser until it is removed by PuzzleNook, by you, or through your browser or device settings.
If you request deletion of an account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with that account within a reasonable period, except where we reasonably need to retain certain information for legal, fraud-prevention, security, backup, accounting or other legitimate purposes.
Aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you may be retained.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. These may include access controls, authentication, restricted administrative access, secure communications and security services provided through our infrastructure providers.
No Internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of any email account or device you use to access PuzzleNook.
11. Processing Outside British Columbia or Canada
Some of the service providers that help us operate PuzzleNook may process or store information outside British Columbia or Canada. When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
12. Access, Correction and Deletion
You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate personal information, request deletion of an optional PuzzleNook account, or raise a privacy concern.
Because guest gameplay is designed to be pseudonymous, we may sometimes be unable to identify which pseudonymous records belong to a particular person unless you can provide information that reasonably allows us to connect the records with you.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request involving personal information.
13. Your Choices
You can use PuzzleNook without creating an account.
You can choose not to provide an email address with feedback. You can remove locally stored PuzzleNook information using browser controls. If optional accounts are available, you can choose whether to create one and can request its deletion.
14. Changes to PuzzleNook
PuzzleNook is still evolving. We may add features such as synchronization, subscriptions or other services.
If a new feature materially changes how we collect, use or disclose personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
